There is something about the holidays that makes me TRULY appreciate family. This is not to say that I don't appreciate them year round. I don't get to see my mom and dad throughout the year as they live on the east coast and I'm here in California.

Here's what it is: I have three nephews. The oldest one is 8, middle one is 5, and the youngest is three. My brother is in and out of their lives. Their mom is not working and not doing what she should as a parent (in my opinion). They live with her.
